S & R UNDERWATER is New York’s Finger Lake dive center located 8 miles south of Seneca Lake, offering regularly scheduled diver training programs. Your training program includes three major components.

 
•Pool Training where you will first practice the use of snorkeling and SCUBA equipment with your instructor.

•Classroom Training where you will review knowledge about; equipment, physiology, and the marine environment and discuss topics of diving with your instructor.

•Open Water Dives completed on two separate days with your instructor. Open water dives are either at Seneca or Keuka Lake.

•Classes are normally one night a week 1 ½ hours Classroom training followed by 1 ½ hours of Pool Training. For 5-6 weeks and then followed by two days of Open Water Dives at the Lake.

 
Course Tuition - The cost for your underwater adventure is much lower than you might imagine, only $450 for instruction and equipment use. S & R UNDERWATER provides the following equipment for pool and open water training sessions: SCUBA Cylinder (air tank), Regulator, Octopus Unit, Gauges, Buoyancy Compensator Jacket, Weight Belts, Exposure Suits needed for open water dives,  Floats and Flags as required.

 Also included are - materials including your personal textbook, scuba workbook, introductory video, diver’s logbook, and your Open Water certification card. This card is registered with your unique Student certification number which has no expiration date and is recognized all over the world.

 Provided by the student - Each student must provide their own; mask, snorkel, fins,. (Many divers prefer to also purchase wet suit booties at this time to wear with the fins for increased comfort.) Students receive 10% discount at S & R UNDERWATER. You are encouraged to visit the dive shop prior to the first pool session and let our professional staff assist you in selecting the items that are best for you.

 All students receive a 10% discount on equipment while they are enrolled in any class and up to 1 year after their certification.

 
Student Pre-Requisites -

•Be a minimum age of (18) however participants may be between the ages of 12 to 17 years old so long as written parental consent is provided.

•Students age 12 - 14 may obtain a restricted Scuba Diver Certification if the following conditions are met: Students are to train and dive under the direct supervision of a parent, guardian, or active leadership level diver.

•When a Restricted Scuba Diver reaches the age of fifteen (15) years they can upgrade to an open water Scuba Diver Certification.

•Successful complete swimming evaluation.
